Existence In Review

With this project I worked to expand the vocabulary and utilize techniques that designers can use to elevate narratives told within their work.

I chose to recount themes and lessons from my past year of existence. The subject matter is highly personal, however the stories are told from an abstract perspective, my main device used to elevate this narrative, to keep the information accessible to anyone viewing the work, enabling them to make their own connections with the piece.

The stories are told in a graphic zine style, light on the text. Hand drawn elements make the publication feel more intimate and connect to the themes being explored. I’ve included companion motion pieces that convey the information in concise clips, allowing viewers to interpret the themes and be drawn in to viewing the printed spreads more closely.
